From the north (or Albany Airport) to Albany
From the Northway (I-87 South), travel to the end of the highway. Turn left at Western Avenue/Route 20. Continue on Western Avenue for 4.2 miles. At the fork, veer right onto Madison Avenue. Turn right at New Scotland Avenue (Ralph's Tavern is on the corner, across from park). Side entrance to the VA is on the left - just past the second light. Free parking is available in Lot A - to the right Albany VA Medical Center’s front entrance. Free Valet parking is also available.
From the south to Albany
From the New York State Thruway, take Exit 23. After toll booth, veer right immediately to the ramp to Southern Blvd/Route 9W. Turn left at the traffic light – to Route 9W North. Turn right at Delaware Avenue (Stewarts Shop is on the right corner). Turn left at Holland Avenue (Morton Avenue on right - Holland Avenue on left). The entrance to the VA is on the right (past Walgreens). Free parking is available in Lot A, to the right of the main hospital entrance. Free Valet parking is also available.
From the east to Albany
From I-90 West, exit to Route 787 South. Take the Madison Avenue/Route 20 West exit. Continue on Madison Avenue. Turn left on New Scotland Avenue (Ralph's Tavern is on the corner across from park). Side entrance to the VA is on the left - just past the second light. Free parking is available in Lot A - to the right Albany VA Medical Center’s front entrance. Free Valet parking is also available.
From the west to Albany
From the New York State Thruway (I-87), take Exit 24. After the toll booth, follow signs to Route 20/Western Avenue (first ramp on right) taking you onto the Northway (I-87 South). Turn left at Western Avenue/Route 20. Continue on Western Avenue for 4.2 miles. At the fork, veer right onto Madison Avenue. Turn right at New Scotland Avenue (Ralph's Tavern is on the corner, across from park). Side entrance to the VA is on the left - just past the second light. Free parking is available in Lot A - to the right Albany VA Medical Center’s front entrance. Free Valet parking is also available.

Parking Information
Free parking is available. Parking lot shuttle runs Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Volunteers provide shuttle assistance continuously between patient parking and the front entrance of the Medical Center. Patients can call the volunteer driver from the Greeter Desk at (518) 368-3476.
Free Valet parking is also available.
